Private commissions for ceramic portraits are very welcome, and can be undertaken to client requirements. These draw on my practice of sculpting emotional portraits. I find making a series of heads of the same person expressing different emotions can create a particularly lively ‘conversation’, and reveal more depth and empathy, than a single bust in a neutral pose. Below, is a series of portraits of siblings, sculpted during lockdown that reflect a particular moment and dynamic between the two models. Likenesses were sculpted from ‘mugshot’ photos, since we could not meet in person.
